Day 2 Connacht Championships!!

Day 2 of Connacht Indoor Championships in AIT brought more success for CRH thanks to our impressive athletes👏.
Matthew Newell followed his form from last week’s Galway Championship with a GOLD medal in the u15 1km walk and broke yet another record…..this time the Connacht Championship with an exceptional time of 4.16.💪.
Isla Day ran a superb race to win SILVER in the u14 800m. Aeveen Kelly from Craughwell AC pipped Isla to the post and it was simply heartwarming to see Isla congratulate Aeveen with a hug ……these girls have been racing against each other over the past number of years and today clearly illustrated ‘friendly rivalry’ does exist….great sportsmanship 💪.
Eoin Furey performed well and won SILVER in the u18 Shot put as did Saoirse Grant with her BRONZE in the u16 High jump.
Amy Joyce put in a great performance in the u14 1km and missed out narrowly on a BRONZE.
Our u16 boys were represented well with Eoin Higgins coming 4th in the long jump.
Our u14 and u 15 girls, Rhona Connolly, Isabelle Conroy, Grace Cullinane, Ciera Murphy and Caoimhe Thornton all put in great effort in their individual events and in their relay.
Following the two days we now have eight athletes representing CRH in the All Irelands on March 19th/ 20th….. a superb achievement 👏 👌
